Hello, Bragi

We launched Bragi today. If you saw the post, thanks for clicking through. Here's the why.
We didn't want one more calorie app
Every nutrition app on the market does one of two things: treats food like fuel for a machine, or turns it into a public-leaderboard contest. Both miss the point. Food is also a story — what your grandmother taught you, what you ate the night you moved cities, the recipe a friend keeps texting you about.
So we built Bragi around three things mainstream calorie apps got wrong:
- Input is a tax. Manual food entry is the worst part of every other nutrition app. We bet that AI good enough to identify a plate of food from one photo could remove the tax entirely.
- Accuracy needs context. A plate scan gets you a number; it doesn't tell you whether 600 calories is a lot for you tonight. Bragi knows your goals, your week, and your pantry.
- Community matters more than influencers. The best food advice doesn't come from an Instagram reel — it comes from people in your diet actually cooking. Bragi has diet-specific communities and a deliberate lack of follower counts.
